These works offer me colours and textures to utilize while exploring a variety of religious and mythical symbols. Apples may signify temptation and knowledge. Grapes the themes of pleasure and lust. Pomegranates are associated with Persephone, the Greek goddess of spring and queen of the underworld. The paintings may infer a warning of the ephemerality of these pleasures.
